Night dive

Jose and I decided to do a sunset dive off the jetty just to check it out, and it was a great dive.  We hit the water a bit later than expected due to the difficulty I had in getting into my half damp wetsuit!  It’s just such a mission, plus it just kills your fingers!!

We didn’t go deep enough to the artificial house reefs and the wrecks, but stayed along the natural reef.

I didn’t have a torch with me, although Jose did borrow one.  Despite that, I was amazed at how many things I spotted by fading sunlight – two beautiful lion fish right next to each other (one of them inside the hole), a very well camouflaged crocodile fish, another smaller juvenile lion fish, and a cute little baby flamboyant cuttlefish that was rippling and pulsing dark purple, yellow and white along its body.

Almost underneath the jetty was a massive moray eel too – I could only see 20cm of its head/body but it was so broad that I have no doubt that it would’ve been longer than me!!

A brilliant, relaxing dive.

I would love to know what you think...
