I buddied with Sven, one of the dive guides for this dive, after being dissatisfied with my other buddies (I didn’t think that I was that fussy a person, but hey ho). The Zodiacs dropped us off in the Coral Gardens and we slowly putted around the reef back to the boat.

On the way, we admired the beautiful coral gardens springing up from the sandy bottom, with loads of colourful fish life including juvenile butterfly fish, damselfish, and scorpion fish. On the bottom of the coral gardens were lots of goatfish hunting around in the sand, conches leaving trails through the sand, and spiralling sand mounds from sea cucumbers.

I followed Sven into a little shallow cave that had a few resident fish in its chambers. By the time we got back to the boat, we had run well over the planned dive time, but we did our safety stop on a shallow part of the reef where there were some baby barracuda, yellow fin snapper and a tiny little baby lion fish – totally cute!

A nice relaxing dive with lots of little coral outcrops to poke around in.

I would love to know what you think...
