Dive 244: Ras Toromby, Red Sea (Egypt)

Dive time: 01:03:00
Max depth: 17.4 metres
Temperature: 28 C
Visibility: 30+ metres
Buddy: John North

We had our check dive here at Ras Toromby – a fairly shallow reef with a sandy bottom. There were quite a few amazing pinnacles and outcrops with amazing soft corals – really pretty.

There was some really amazing fish life – lots of colourful reef fish as well as spotting a large moray under some coral, a couple of lion fish, a napoleon wrasse, some huge snapper, anenome fish, giant clams, and lots of grouper.

We also tested deploying SMBs. I had borrowed one from one of the DMs. Managed to deploy it fine although didn’t actually have a spool or reel to wind the line back in.

I would love to know what you think...
